Boating
Over the long weekend we went out on the lake with Scott. Rebecca had fun "driving" the boat and watching us ski. She is a lot more mobile this summer and we have to watch her closely around the edge of the boat.

Adventures with Frog and Rebecca
On a sunny and windy afternoon Frog and Rebecca meet for the first time. Rebecca enjoys putting Frog in her bucket, but isn't very gentle with him. Frog, fearing for his life, attempts to hop away, but Rebecca pleads with him to give her another chance to play.
Frog comes back to play, but again Rebecca uses her large feet to try and crush Frog! Will he survive?? Will he ever want to play with her again??
Stay tuned...more summer adventures with Frog and Rebecca are sure to come!

Joshua's Baptism
This weekend we went to Chicago to finally see Rebecca's new cousin Joshua, son of my brother David and his wife Andrea. Joshua is now about 9 weeks old and a cutie! Here are some pictures from the weekend and the baptism. This is the best picture we could get of Joshua and Rebecca, she really didn't want to have too much to do with her newest cousin!

Tulip Time, Pella
This weekend we made it to Pella on Saturday night to enjoy some food and the night parade. Because I grew up in Orange City with our own Tulip Festival, it always feels very strange to be in Pella for their's . Everything is so familiar, but yet so strange. I feel very out of place - mostly because I know there is another place that I feel more at home. I don't know that I will ever be totally comfortable at Pella's Tulip Time, but that won't stop me from enjoying it. I am very sad that I am going to miss Orange City's Tulip Festival this year.
Here are a few pictures from our weekend.
Rebecca and Allison enjoying the parade. Rebecca loved the lighted floats and the bands.

the weekend
We had a really great weekend. The weather was beautiful and we got a lot accomplished!
I finished another graduate class on Friday night which was a great feeling. I still need to write my final paper and send that in to my professor, but that shouldn't be to hard. Saturday, Rebecca and I went garage sale shopping with Carol. We had a good time, but we totally struck out when in came to finding clothes for Rebecca. There wasn't a single sale that had clothes her size!
Later on Saturday I mowed the lawn for the first time this spring - I love mowing! Rebecca took almost a 4 hour nap so I also was able to trim trees, bushes, and just clean up the yard. Then Dan and I cut down 7 pine trees in the front yard. We have a nice wind break, but some of the trees have become very diseased and needed to be replaced. It will be quite a few years before the new trees make a difference in the winter, but we did plant 8 new trees as replacements.
On Sunday we enjoyed grilled T-bones on the deck.
